Michael Hancock is an environmental engineer working for the state of Florida and has studied the natural resources of the Tampa Bay Area for over 17 years. He regularly makes presentations to the public on the value of natural systems, emphasizing the important role that water plays in Florida's ecological health. He has written dozens of technical reports on Florida water management and natural systems, as well as reports produced for public education. Michael has also been active in many local and national conservation groups, and has regularly led hiking and canoe trips along the land and water trails of Florida. His photography and writing have appeared in such publications as National Wildlife, Nature Photographer, Florida Wildlife and most recently many of his images were used in a guide to the Florida Everglades. Michael currently serves as the Field Editor for the photography newsletter F/8 And Being There . Michael resides in Land O Lakes with his wife DeeDee and their two year old twins Christopher and Catherine.
