PAINTED SILKS 101

Creating art on silk as your canvas.You will leave with a finished work of wearable art. We Will work with wax or gutta. Come with an idea and Toni will help you put it on silk.

PAPERMAKING

Paper making students will experience the process of molding paper using a deckle frame. We will be recycling to make a slurry as well as using several types of materials as additives to enhance the finished paper. Wear old clothes an be prepared to get into the pulp of it

Communicate your personal History into art work,with the use of image transfers, paint and family items. Toni's enthusiasm will spark your creativity.

I paint with rhythm and movement, My work is intuitive. I think of painting as a puzzle one piece leading to the next. Quilts are also my inspiration, sometimes I use symbols of homes or people chosen for their simplicity and as a
metaphor for family (comfort ,love and safety)

Color contributes strongly to the mood of each work and I intend for each work to have a visual richness and
character that takes it beyond just design.

I've had outstanding learning experiences. The break through artists for me where: Ed Whitney, Ted (ED) Minchin, Maxine Masterfield, Mary Todd Beam, Gerald Brommer and the best for me on a personal level Mary Alice Braukman, my mentor, being her assistant for a few years and on our on going friendship has been and continues to be invaluable.

Toni's classes are fun and informative. The most fun you will have creating art. Bring your sense of humor and creativity with you to class. You will completely enjoy yourself while exploring you inter muse.
